Hi, my name is Leticia and I’m from Southern California. Reading is my passion and I try to get my fix at every available opportunity. A serious bookaholic, I can be found with a book or three at any given time. I love reading anything from paranormal romance to contemporary and erotica.
My love for reading and my attention to detail had me thinking about freelance editing for some time. I started beta reading for a few authors and when an author friend encouraged me to do editing/proofreading, her words led me to pursue it and now here I am. I have been doing freelance editing and proofreading for about five years in the romance genre. I have done everything from brainstorming story ideas to proofreading the final manuscript.
As well as freelancing, I worked for Booktrope, a hybrid publisher, for one year until its closing. While editing for Indie authors, I've also worked on edits for Technical and Contractual documentation for over 15 years.
Because I do this in my spare time, I feel I can offer affordable prices. However, that doesn’t mean that I won’t give the project the time and attention it needs. I take my work very seriously as I understand how important editing is in getting an author's work ready for publication. My goal is to work efficiently and always within the designated timeline. I will never change the voice of the characters or tone of their story and will only offer suggestions as an editor and reader to make things clearer and give the story a better flow. Each author is ultimately responsible for accepting or rejecting those suggestions. I am committed to work with you until you are completely satisfied with your manuscript.
I am a stickler for period and comma placement, love to work, and take deadlines seriously.
I work following the Chicago Manual of Style and use the Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.
